Robert Cossy (born February 22, 1861 in Aigle , † May 22, 1920 in Lausanne , reformed , entitled to live in Aigle, Ollon and Rivaz ) was a Swiss politician (FDP) .

Robert Cossy was born on February 22, 1861 in Aigle, the son of the surgeon and founder of the Hotel Les Salines de Bex, Jules Cossy and Augustine Marie Louise née de Loës, granddaughter of the liberal politician Auguste de Loës . Between 1880 and 1884, Cossy studied law at the University of Lausanne , which he completed in 1884 with a licentiate .

After being admitted to the bar in 1886, the vineyard owner Robert Cossy worked as a lawyer in Aigle between 1887 and 1893. In addition, Cossy served in the Swiss Army in the role of artillery colonel. In addition, Robert Cossy directed the transit of war wounded and prisoners during the First World War .

He was married to Alice, the doctor's daughter and member of the Federal Health Commission Philippe de La Harpe. Robert Cossy died on May 22, 1920, three months after turning 59 in Lausanne.

Political career

As a member of the liberal party, Cossy belonged to the local legislature in the local council from 1890 . At cantonal level, he represented his party in the Vaudois Grand Council from 1890 to 1893 before he headed the State Council , to which he was a member until 1920, first the military department, then the judiciary and police department. After the parliamentary elections in 1917 , Cossy took part in the National Council until 1920 .
