Robert Endres

Robert Endres (born October 8, 1892 in Salzburg , † April 7, 1964 in Vienna ) was an Austrian historian .

Life

Endres attended the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster , from 1911 he first studied medicine at the University of Vienna , then in 1912 he switched to history , geography and philosophy. In 1915 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. From 1915 to 1918 he was drafted into military service. From 1919 to 1957 he worked as a high school teacher and lecturer at the Pedagogical Institute in Vienna.

He also wrote several works on Austrian and European history, including a manual and the five-volume work History of Europe and the Orient (1948–1956).

In 1966, Endresstraße in Vienna- Liesing (23rd district) was named after him.
