Robert Gordian

Robert Gordian (born June 14, 1938 in Oebisfelde ; † May 30, 2017 in Eichwalde ) was a German writer .

Career

Gordian studied journalism and history. From 1961 to 1967 he worked as a television editor and theater dramaturge in Berlin, then as a freelance radio play and TV writer, mostly with historical topics.

Since the 1990s, Gordian has written historical novels and short stories, including the Merovingian tetralogy (1998-2006) and the series Odo and Lupus about two "commissioners" (royal messengers) at the time of Charlemagne (1995-2008).

His novels have been published by Heyne , dtv , Rowohlt , Pendo and Zabern , among others .

Gordian lived as a freelance author in Eichwalde near Berlin. He died at the end of May 2017 at the age of 78 in his house in Eichwalde.
