In 1981 he received his doctorate as a systematic theologian and in 1993 in the New Testament from Drew University . In between he taught religion at Mount Olive College in North Carolina for a few years and was pastor of a Baptist church in Montclair, New Jersey . As a result of his reading of critical thinkers of the 19th century, his doubts about liberal theology grew, so that he gave up his pastor in 1994.

Price also dealt intensively with the Cthulhu myth founded by HP Lovecraft and other authors , was editor of the relevant magazine Crypt of Cthulhu and several books on the subject - especially by Chaosium- Verlag.
