Robert F. Newmyer

Robert F. Newmyer (born May 30, 1956 in Washington , † December 12, 2005 in Toronto , Canada ) was an American film producer .

Life

Robert F. Newmyer began his career alongside Jeffrey Silver as vice president of production at Columbia Pictures . With this he went into business for himself in the late 1980s and founded Outlaw Productions . The studio produced independent films . The first and immediately successful film produced was Sex, Lies and Video in 1989 , for which it received the Independent Spirit Award . In the following years, large and small, often very successful films were produced. In 2005 Robert Newmyer died of a heart attack while exercising in a gym.

He had a guest appearance in the film Fast Food Family and after his death the film Santa Clause 3 in the credits was dedicated to the producer .
