Robert Onnen

Robert Onno Onnen (born December 16, 1887 in Jever , † September 7, 1968 in Aurich ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

After attending the humanistic Mariengymnasium in Jever , Robert Onnen completed an apprenticeship as an administrative officer in the middle service from 1905 with the government in Aurich and various district offices . From 1910/1911 he received a position as representative of the district administrator (district secretary) at the Emden district office and became district inspector in 1924. The ability to higher administrative service it acquired in 1929, as a result, he was in Aurich Government to Government conveyed to his area of monitoring was one of political organizations. In 1931 he was elected district administrator in the Linden district. After the incorporation of the district of Linden into the district of Hanover in 1932, he took over the administration of the newly tailored greater district of Hanover.

After the end of the Second World War , he became district administrator of the district of Aurich in August 1945 , and he worked as senior district director until he retired in April 1955.

Onnen called the “Onno-Onnen-Heim” foundation for disabled children in Aurich. He was honored with the Great Cross of Merit of the Lower Saxony Order of Merit , and he received the Cross of Merit First Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Robert Onnen was a member of the Landtag from May 6, 1955 to June 5, 1967 (3rd to 5th electoral period ), and from June 12, 1963 to June 5, 1967, he was also the age president of the Lower Saxony State Parliament .

Onnen was a Lutheran, married and had a son. After losing his son in 1957 and his wife in 1968 , he committed suicide.
