Robert R. Bertrand
Robert R. Bertrand (born February 12, 1906 in San José , California , † May 4, 2002 in Wildomar , California) was an American sound engineer .
Life
Bertrand began his career in 1960 as a microphone technician on Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller Psycho . As a result, he mostly worked for television. Among other things, he worked on the series You Should Be Grown Up , Alfred Hitchcock Presents , At the Foot of the Blue Mountains and The People from Shiloh Ranch .
In 1974 Bertrand was nominated for The Clou together with Ronald Pierce for the Oscar in the category Best Sound , but this year the award went to The Exorcist . The highlight was also Bertrand's last film, he then withdrew from the film business. He died in Wildomar in 2002 at the age of 96.
