Robert Russell (actor)
Robert Russell (born May 24, 1936 in Kent , † May 12, 2008 in Maidenhead , Berkshire ) was an English actor.
biography
Russell was born in Kent but spent his childhood in South Africa until the age of eleven . After finishing school, he worked in a gold mine . After returning to England, he trained as an actor at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art .
After several roles in the Royal National Theater , among others at the side of Laurence Olivier and Michael Gambon , he appeared increasingly on British television from 1960. His most famous role was on the side of Vincent Price in the film The Witch Hunter . There he played the assistant to the mad witch hunter. He had other small roles in Inspector Clouseau , Othello (with Laurence Olivier and Maggie Smith ) and Mephisto 68 .
He appeared in numerous series such as With Umbrella, Charm and Melon , Moon Base Alpha 1 and Doctor Who . In 1993 he played his last film role in the Canadian feature film Strange Horizons .
At 71 he died of a heart attack in Meidenhead, Berkshire.
