Robert Theuermeister

Robert Theuermeister (also: Albert Robert Theuermeister , pseudonym : Karl Albert Schöllenbach , born August 24, 1882 in Lützkowitz near Zeitz ; † August 18, 1945 in Ammendorf near Halle (Saale) ) was a German educator and writer .

Life

After his training as a primary school teacher, Robert Theuermeister worked as a teacher in Weißenfels and Ammendorf from 1904 until his retirement in 1944 ; most recently he was deputy principal . He also wrote narrative works and non-fiction books for children. From 1920 to 1924 he published the weekly newspaper For Our Children . Theuermeister was a committed member of the Guttempler Order as part of the alcohol abstinence movement ; During the Third Reich he was close to the National Socialists and published books conforming to the system. Of the Theuermeister's works published during this time, four titles were on the list of literature to be sorted out after 1945 in the Soviet zone and the early GDR .
