Robert Vaden (born March 3, 1985 ) is an American professional basketball player . For the 2012/2013 season, Vaden moved to Germany and signed a contract with Telekom Baskets Bonn .

The 1.96 m tall Vaden initially spent his college years at Indiana University Bloomington , for which he ran from 2004 to 2006. In the summer of 2006 Vaden followed his coach to the University of Alabama at Birmingham . There he had to suspend a season according to the regulations and played actively for the university team from 2007 to 2009.

After drawing attention to himself with good statistics, Vaden was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats in 54th place in the 2009 NBA Draft . From the Bobcats he was immediately transferred to the Oklahoma City Thunder . There he did not get a contract, however, and moved to Europe for the first time and went basketball in the Italian second division for Aget Imola in 2009/2010 .

After a year in Europe, Vaden tried again to make the leap into the NBA and ran for the Thunder in the NBA Summer League . However, he received again no contract and moved to the NBA Development League for the Tulsa 66ers . After the jump to the NBA failed in the summer of 2011, Vaden moved again to Europe and ran for BK Nitra . After the end of his contract in Slovakia , Vaden played again for the Tulsa 66ers in the NBA Development League for the rest of the season.

After further appearances in the NBA Summer League 2012, Vaden moved to Germany for the 2012/2013 season and received a contract with Telekom Baskets Bonn until 2013. After increased THC levels were found in a routine test, Telekom Baskets Bonn separated from Vaden on April 26, 2013.

For the 2013/2014 season, Vaden stayed in Europe and joined the Belfius Mons-Hainaut team from Belgium. During the summer break of 2014, Vaden presented himself at the San Antonio Spurs training camp , but did not receive a contract for the 2014/2015 season. Vaden then moved again to the NBA Development League at the Bakersfield Jam .
