Robert Wild

Robert Wild (born December 28, 1875 in Klingenberg am Main , † February 26, 1950 in Regensburg ) was a German administrative lawyer and local politician.

Life

After attending grammar school in Regensburg and Aschaffenburg , Robert Wild studied law at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen . There he became a member of the Onoldia Corps in 1895 . The Ruprecht-Karls University Heidelberg doctorate him to Dr. jur. utr. After his legal traineeship , he entered the Bavarian administrative service as a government accessist with the government of the Upper Palatinate in Regensburg. At the same time he worked as a public prosecutor and teacher for building law at the Regensburg building trade school. After working as a district office assessor in Donauwörth , he went back to Regensburg, where he was unanimously elected to the legal council. In 1914 he was unanimously elected the first legally qualified mayor by the municipal council of the city of Fürth. In December 1916 he was unanimously re-elected. In September 1919 he was re-elected as Lord Mayor in a popular election. In March 1929 he was re-elected for another 10 years. On March 16, 1933, the left-liberal Wild had to resign from his position after refusing to receive Hitler at the airport in February 1933.

Political achievements

During the First World War, Wild was responsible for ensuring the food supply, the war welfare system, the provision for survivors and welfare in Fürth. He alleviated the acute housing shortage of the post-war period by building extensive foundation houses for families with many children who participated in the war. In the school and education system he created functional institutions. On his initiative, the Jahnhalle, a double gym with sports hall, the Hans-Lohnert playground, the newly built Fürthe hospital, the expansion of the power station, the modernization of the tram, the creation of new industrial sites and the airport were built.

Memberships in municipal associations and supervisory boards

Wild belonged to the main committee of the Bavarian Association of Cities , the main committee of the Bavarian Canal and Shipping Association and the committee for housing in the German Association of Cities .

He was chairman of the supervisory board of Ludwigsbahn AG and a member of the supervisory board of Rhein-Main-Donau AG, the Franken power station, Bayerische Siedlungs- und Landbank AG, Nordbayerische Verkehrsflug GmbH and the milk supply company Nürnberg-Fürth GmbH.

Honors

  • In honor of Robert Wild, the Dr.-Wild-Straße in Fürth-Unterfarrnbach was named in May 1945 while he was still alive.
