reception

Reviews

Leslie Felperin writes in The Guardian , although Robert the Bruce was directed by an Australian with Richard Gray, numerous American actors tried their hand at Scottish accents with varying degrees of success and the film was shot in Montana, which they find most scandalous is thought to be has become a stimulating historical drama. It takes about an hour before the film really starts, but then it develops into a real drama with rousing orchestral music. This should make the film a hit with Scottish audiences, but Felperin believes that a repeat of Braveheart's international success is unlikely.
