Roberto Gonçalves Pinto (born August 22, 1978 in Stuttgart-Wangen , Germany ) is a former Portuguese football player and current coach .
Athletic career
Pinto first played in the youth team at VfL Stuttgart-Wangen (now SportKultur Stuttgart) from 1984 and joined VfB Stuttgart in 1991 . There he was German B youth champion twice in a row. In 1996 he first joined the amateurs of VfB Stuttgart before he was appointed to the Stuttgart professionals in 1999.
From 1998 to 2001 Pinto played for VfB Stuttgart a total of 52 times in the Bundesliga . For the 2001/02 season he was signed by Hertha BSC , where he was used 34 times as a right wing racer until 2004. In 2002 he won the league cup with Hertha . Moved to Arminia Bielefeld , he acted there from January 2005 as "Joker" under the coaches Uwe Rapolder and then Thomas von Heesen .
Pinto also played for the Portugal U21 national team .
From the 2006/07 season Pinto ran for the Grasshopper Club Zurich . He signed a contract there for two years. Since he recently played no role in coach Hanspeter Latour's plans , Pinto dissolved his contract at the end of 2007 and moved back to Germany for SV Sandhausen in the Regionalliga Süd.
With Sandhausen he qualified in 2008 for the newly founded 3rd division . In the following years he became a fixture on the right side of the midfield of the sand houses. He played over 100 third division games for the club and was promoted to the second division with SVS in his fifth year. In the summer of 2012, Sandhausen separated from Pinto.
In January 2013 Pinto signed a contract with Bundesliga club FC-Astoria Walldorf . In addition to his active career, Pinto advanced his training as a coach and began working as a coach at FC-Astoria Walldorf in the youth field. In July 2014 he ended his playing career and became team manager for the Walldorf U23.
