Roberto de Souza Rezende (born January 18, 1985 in Goiânia ) is a Brazilian football player.

Roberto de Souza began his career in his Brazilian homeland with the traditional team Guarani FC . After 2 years there, he was looking for a new challenge, which he found in Spain at Celta Vigo , where he did not make more than eight short appearances in the Primera División in his first year . So he was awarded for the following season to UD Salamanca , where he developed into a regular player.

Since there was one non-European in the team due to the commitment of the Argentine Ariel Javier Rosada , the Celta officials decided to loan him to the league rivals Racing Ferrol for the second half of the 2007/2008 season , like his team-mate Petar Sanew before . In the 2008/09 season Souza played on loan at the Portuguese first division club Leixões SC .

In summer 2009 Souza moved to Marítimo Funchal . There he played for three years as a regular in midfield and twice reached the qualifying round for the Europa League with his team . In summer 2012 he moved to Persepolis Tehran in Iran. After three months he left the club. He was then without a club for two years before he returned to Leixões SC in December 2014, as he was now playing in the Segunda Liga . There he secured himself with his team in the 2014/15 season to stay in the class. After that he was again without a club for six months before joining Rio Branco EC in Brazil in early 2016 .
