Bryntesson was junior sprint world champion in Stryn in 2004 and won the U23 sprint world championship in 2007 and 2008. At the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Rovaniemi , Finland , he just missed a medal in fourth in the sprint, while he was only 33rd in the freestyle race over ten kilometers. He made his debut in the cross-country world cup in February 2004 in Stockholm in the sprint, which he finished in 48th place. Bryntesson achieved his first World Cup points in March 2006 in the sprint in Borlänge with rank 24, in March 2007 in Lahti with rank 15 in the sprint he reached the top 15 for the first time and in December of the same year he was ranked 10th in the Rybinsk sprint for the first time the top 10.
