Robin Sowden-Taylor (born June 9, 1982 in Cardiff ) is a Welsh rugby union player who is used on the position of the winger . He plays for the Newport Gwent Dragons and is a member of the Welsh national team .

Career

Sowden-Taylor began his professional career with the Cardiff RFC in 2001 and joined the Cardiff Blues in 2003 with the formation of regional teams . In the 2005/06 season he was the captain of the team, because the actual team captain Rhys Williams had injured. In the same season he also made his debut for the national team against Italy in the Six Nations , in which Wales reached the Grand Slam . The following season was marked by a serious ankle injury, which he only came to seven missions for his team.

Sowden-Taylor participated in the Commonwealth Games in rugby 7 in 2006 . In the 2007/08 season he was again seriously injured, this time on the shoulder, and was out for a few months. He returned in November 2008 and was used in the friendly against Canada . In 2009 he won the EDF Energy Cup with the Blues . In 2010 he moved to the Newport Gwent Dragons .
