Robinson is a city in McLennan County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located 10 km south of Waco on Highway 77, almost centrally in McLennan County and has a total area of 81.7 km² without any significant water surface.

According to the 2000 census, 7,845 people lived here in 2,828 households and 2,330 families. The population density was 96.0 inhabitants per km². The racial the population was composed of 91.75% White, 2.09% African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.48% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, and 4.27% other ethnic groups. About 1.01% were mixed race and 9.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 2,828 households, 37.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 70.2% of them were married couples living together. 9.6% were single mothers and 17.6% were non-families. 15.4% of all households were single households and there were people living in 8.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.77 and the average family size was 3.07.
26.5% of the population were under 18 years old, 6.7% 18 to 24, 26.6% 25 to 44, 25.9% 45 to 64, and 14.4% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 94.0 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 91.1 men.
