Robyn Elizabeth Stewart (born April 10, 1990 in Belfast ) is an Irish track cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2013, Robyn Stewart, who played hockey for the Hillhead Ladies Hockey Club in Glasgow , married the UK national track coach Kevin Stewart. The following year she was a spectator at the track cycling competitions of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where her husband's brother, Mark Stewart , competed for Scotland . Enthusiastic about the sport, she decided to switch from hockey to track cycling; her husband first became her trainer.

The following year, 2015, Stewart and Emma Baird scored her first success in the team sprint at a UCI track race in Manchester , and she finished second in the Keirin . In 2017 she won four Irish championship titles, in Keirin, Team Sprint (with Autumn Collins ), 500-meter time trial and in the Sprint . In 2018 she started at the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast and finished eleventh in the sprint and twelfth in the keirin. In the same year she became Irish champion in sprint and time trial. She lives and trains at the Manchester Velodrome and continues to work part-time in her profession as a dentist ( as of 2018 ).
