Rocío Dúrcal

Rocío Dúrcal (born October 4, 1944 in Madrid as María de los Ángeles de las Heras , † March 25, 2006 in Torrelodones , Madrid region ) was a Spanish actress and singer .

Career

She was discovered at a singing competition at the age of 15 and already got a role in Canción de Juventud at 17 . After a few roles in various films, she married the Filipino- Spanish singer Antonio Morales of the Los Brincos music group . In 1975, after the birth of the second of her three children, she stopped making films and began singing again in 1977. Their first album was produced by Juan Gabriel and another by Marco Antonio Solís . She recorded a total of seven albums.

Her best-known and most successful song was Amor Eterno (German: Eternal Love ) written by the Mexican singer and composer Juan Gabriel .

In 2001 Dúrcal was diagnosed with uterine cancer. She succumbed to this disease five years later, at the age of 61, in her home in Torrelodones, a suburb of her hometown Madrid.
