geography
Rockendorf is located on the Kotschau , about one kilometer west of Krölpa on the B 281 .
history
The first written mention of Rockendorf was in 1169 as the seat of the noble Heinrich von Rockendorf. The manor with its settlements was sold to the noble family von Brockendorf zu Naumburg in 1425 and fell to the Lords of Brandenstein in 1448. From 1571 to 1815 Rockendorf belonged to the electoral office of Arnshaugk and, after its assignment, decided at the Congress of Vienna , came to the Prussian district of Ziegenrück , to which the place belonged until 1945. On April 14, 1945, American troops were in Rockendorf.
In 1624 the plague was felt in the village.
The church was built in 1781 instead of a burnt down chapel.
The community was incorporated into Krölpa on January 1, 1997.
