Gräfendorf is a district of the municipality of Krölpa in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

Gräfendorf is located about two kilometers southwest of the locality of Krölpa and it is located at the foot of the northern roof of the Thuringian Slate Mountains in the transition to the locations of the Orlasenke west of the city of Ranis and east of Unterwellenborn . The federal road 281 leads through the valley to the north and is reached via the county road 202.
history
Graefendorf was first mentioned in a document in December 1074. The place belonged to the electoral office of Arnshaugk until 1815 and after its assignment, decided at the Congress of Vienna , came to the Prussian district of Ziegenrück , to which the place belonged until 1945. The village church has stood in its current form since 1752 .
There was a medieval moated castle on the site of the property. A pond and a moat are still remnants of the fortification.
On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Dobian and on February 1, 1974 the municipality of Oelsen was incorporated. Graefendorf was incorporated into Krölpa on January 1, 1997.
