Petr Kanko (born February 7, 1984 in Příbram , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with Orli Znojmo in the Austrian ice hockey league since 2011 .
Career
Petr Kanko began his career as a hockey player with the HC Sparta Prague , he for the first team in the 2000/01 season, his debut in the Extraliga was. In his rookie year , he scored one goal in six games. He then played for three years for the Kitchener Rangers in the Canadian Junior League Ontario Hockey League and won with the Canadians in 2003 both the J. Ross Robertson Cup as OHL champions and the Memorial Cup , the final tournament for the championship of the Canadian Hockey League . During his time with the Kitchener Rangers, the winger was also selected in the third round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft as a total of 66th player by the Los Angeles Kings , for whose farm team he played in the American Hockey League from 2004 to 2008 . In the 2005/06 season he was also in ten games for the Los Angeles Kings himself in the National Hockey League on the ice and scored one goal. In the 2007/08 season he also worked for the Reading Royals in the ECHL .
From 2008 to 2010 Kanko played in his Czech homeland for the Extraliga participant HC Oceláři Třinec , with whom he did not get beyond the first playoff round. In the 2010/11 season , the former junior international was under contract with HC Litvínov in the Extraliga. For this, however, he completed only one game and spent the entire legal season at HC Slovan Ústečtí Lvi in the second-class 1st division . For the 2011/12 season he joined Orli Znojmo from the Austrian ice hockey league .

For the Czech Republic , Kanko took part in the 2001 U18 Junior World Championship and the 2004 U20 Junior World Championship .
