Rod Fergusson is a Canadian video game producer.

Career

Fergusson joined Microsoft in 1996 providing technical support for corporate customers. One of the first projects Fergusson worked on was Microsoft Train Simulator .

Fergusson joined Epic Games in July 2005 , where he was executive producer and then later involved in the development of the Gears of War franchise as production manager. On August 9, 2012, Fergusson announced his departure from Epic and joined Irrational Games as Executive Vice President of Development during the final phase of BioShock Infinite's development. On April 8, 2013, Fergusson confirmed that he will be leaving Irrational Games.

On January 27, 2014, Microsoft announced the purchase of the Gears of War franchise from Epic Games. With the purchase, Fergusson was hired by Microsoft to run the franchise in their studio, The Coalition . Fergusson announced on February 6, 2020 that he had left The Coalition. Fergusson will join Blizzard Entertainment as lead developer of the Diablo franchise in March 2020 .
