Rodenbach is a district in the Gronau district of Bergisch Gladbach . In dialect it is called Rodemich .
Location and description
The location is north of the Gierath forest and west of Kreisstraße 27. It forms a closed settlement area with the surrounding residential areas, so that it is no longer perceived independently.
The Rodenbach , whose name was adopted for the settlement, runs south . It "got its name from the color red" ( Middle High German red / red ) because the water is colored red in places due to a proportion of iron hydroxide .
history
Rodenbach is an old court, brook and trade name . It is mentioned in a document as early as 1330 as Rodinbach . The medieval settlement of Rodenbach had developed into a hamlet with 27 residential buildings and 170 inhabitants in 1905. It was west of the Lommertzenmühle (also called Dünnmühle or Neue Mühle ).
