Roderich Hustaedt

Roderich Hustaedt (born October 3, 1878 in Mirow ; † December 8, 1958 in Baden-Baden ) was Minister of State of Mecklenburg-Strelitz from 1920 to 1928 and a member of the German Democratic Party .

Life

As the son of the factory owner Hustaedt from Mirow, Roderich Hustaedt attended the Carolinum grammar school in Neustrelitz from 1890 and graduated from high school in autumn 1898 . He then studied law and political science in Jena , Berlin and Rostock , where he in 1903 to Dr. jur. received his doctorate.

In 1907 Hustaedt was a district judge in Neustrelitz, and from 1908 to 1920 a member of the legal examination authority at the Rostock district court. In 1910 he became a member of the National Liberal Party , in 1911 city representative in Neustrelitz, from 1915 to 1919 city syndic there. From 1919 to 1933 Hustaedt was chairman of the supervisory board of Mecklenburg-Strelitzer Hypothekenbank.

He was a member of the DDP from 1919 to 1931, from 1919 to 1920 and 1920 to 1928 also a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Minister of State of the small Free State from 1920 to 1928. In this capacity, Hustaedt refused a pardon in the miscarriage of justice and Josef Jakubowski's case .

He campaigned for the new building of the Neustrelitz high school Carolinum, which was inaugurated in July 1925. From 1925 Hustaedt was a member of the Mecklenburg-Strelitzer Association for History and Local History.

Since 1899 he was a member of the Corps Guestphalia Jena .

Honors

Roderich Hustaedt was awarded the Great Golden Medal for Art and Science of the Free State of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and was later honorary chairman of the Caroliner old school students until his death.
