Rodolfo Freyre y García Vieyra

Rodolfo Freyre y García Vieyra (born October 19, 1891 in Santa Fe (Argentina) , † September 19, 1940 in Nice ) was an Argentine diplomat .

Life

Rodolfo was a son of Sara García Vieyra and Rodolfo Freyre Iturraspe (1862-1919) a senator. He was married to Corinda Iriondo.

From 1922 to 1924 he was President of the Parliament of Santa Fe Province and from 1924 he was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary in Bogota , Colombia . From 1931 he was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary in Tokyo , Japan . From February 2, 1934 to July 7, 1937 he was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary in Asunción in Paraguay and from then on he was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary in Warsaw ( Poland ) and Prague ( Czechoslovakia ). On April 25, 1939, he replaced Enrique Ruiz Guiñazú as a delegate to the League of Nations , where on December 13, 1939 he called for the exclusion of the Soviet Union . He was killed in a car accident on the way to Cannes .
