Rodrigo Aguirre , full name Rodrigo Sebastián Aguirre Soto , (born October 1, 1994 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.84-meter-tall offensive player Aguirre has been in the first division squad of Liverpool Montevideo at least since the Apertura 2011 . He made three appearances in that half-series and eleven in the season as a whole (no goal) in the Primera División . In the following season 2012/13 he made twenty first division appearances, in which he hit the opposing goal eight times. In the 2013/14 season he played 26 league games (eight goals). His club rose at the end of the season in the Segunda División . Subsequently, the Italian club Udinese Calcio acquired the transfer rights to Aguirre and loaned him to FC Empoli in early July 2014 . There he made his debut on September 20, 2014 (3rd matchday) in the Serie A game against AC Cesena , when he came on for Simone Verdi in the 87th minute . This was his only first division for Empoli. There was also a completed cup game. He returned to Udinese in mid-January 2015. At Udinese, he also played in a cup game and in a total of seven first division games until the end of the season and scored his first goal and only goal of the season for Udinese on the last day of the game. His club closed the season as table-16. from. In the 2015/16 season, including his last appearance on December 12, 2015, he completed ten top division games (no goal) and two matches (no goal) in the Coppa Italia . At the end of January 2016 he moved to second division AC Perugia Calcio on loan . In Serie B he played 17 games (three goals) by the end of the season. In mid-August 2016 he was loaned to FC Lugano and played for the Swiss in nine games (one goal) in the Swiss Super League and in a cup game (no goal). Due to a knee injury, Aguirre had to undergo surgery in December of that year. After his recovery, he did not return to Nacional . Udinese awarded Aguirre again. His trip went to Brazil to the Botafogo FR . He played his first game for the club on May 20, 2018, the sixth matchday of the 2018 championship . In the home game against Fluminense Rio de Janeiro , he was substituted on in the 77th minute for Brenner. After the season ended, Aguirre received a negative rating. On ESPN he was voted in the selection of the worst player of the season. In January 2019, he asked Botafogo to terminate his contract, which the club upheld.

At the beginning of February 2019, the LDU Quito announced the commitment and acquisition of 50% of the transfer rights from Udinesse .

National team

Aguirre made his debut on November 12, 2011 in the U-17 national team of Uruguay , which was coached by Fabián Coito , in the Copa Universidad Católica game that was lost 1-0 to the Mexican selection. He was a member of Uruguay's squad at the 2011 U-17 South American Championship in Ecuador and the 2011 U-17 World Cup in Mexico . At the World Cup, he played seven tournament games, scored one goal and was runner-up with Uruguay. Aguirre has played a total of 23 U-17 internationals. He met four times. Under coach Óscar Tabarez , he made his debut on April 25, 2012 in the 0-0 draw against Egypt in the Uruguayan Olympic team (U-23). This was his only game in this national team. In the U-20 national team , he was then used for the first time under coach Juan Verzeri on June 8, 2012 in the 2-0 win against the USA. Aguirre was part of the squad of the Uruguayan U-20 selection at the U-20 South American Championship in Argentina in 2013 and played eight games during the tournament. So far (as of July 5, 2013) he has completed ten international matches (no goal) in this age group.
