Rogen Ladon (* 10. November 1993 in Bago City ) is a Filipino boxer in the flyweight . He is the younger brother of former boxer Joegen Ladon .

Career

Ladon started boxing in 2007 and won the Philippine Junior Championship in 2009, the Hong Kong International Tournament in 2011, the Taipei City Cup in 2012 and the Philippine Championships in 2013. At the 2013 Asian Championships in Jordan , he finished fifth.

In 2015 he won the silver medal at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore and the Asian Championships in Thailand . He was then able to take part in the 2015 World Championships in Qatar . He defeated the Argentinian Leandro Blanc in the preliminary round, the Mexican Joselito Velásquez in the second round and the Poland Dawid Jagodziński in the quarterfinals. Only in the semifinals he was defeated by the Russian Vasily Jegorow and therefore got out of the World Cup with a bronze medal. It was the first Philippine medal win at a World Boxing Championship in eight years.

In the Asian Olympic qualification in China in 2016 , he reached second place, after losing to Hasanboy Doʻsmatov in the final with a 1: 2 judge's vote . He previously defeated Tosho Kashiwazaki, Hassan Skakir and Devendro Singh . He thus qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games , where he was eliminated in the first fight against Yuberjen Martínez .

In May 2017 he won a bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Uzbekistan and thus qualified for the 2017 World Championships in Hamburg , where he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Shomart Jerschan .

In September 2018 he won the silver medal at the Asian Games in Indonesia when he was only defeated in the final against Jasurbek Latipov . In 2019 he won the Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines.
