Devendro Singh Laishram (* 2. March 1992 in Imphal ) is an Indian boxer in the flyweight .

Career

Devendro Singh was Indian youth champion in 2009 and 2010 and also won the silver medal at the Asian youth championships in Iran in 2010 . At the 2010 World Youth Championships in Azerbaijan , he was eliminated in the second fight against Naoya Inoue .

At the 2011 World Championships in Azerbaijan, he defeated Assylbek Nazaraliyev, Joselito Velásquez and Carlos Quipo before losing to Shin Jong-hun in the quarter - finals and thus qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London . He also won silver at the President's Cup in Kazakhstan in 2012 , when he reached the final against Vasily Yegorov and Birschan Schaqypow and lost to Yosvany Veitía . At the Olympic Games in 2012 he was able to defeat Bayron Molina and Pürewdordschiin Serdamba before losing to Paddy Barnes in the quarterfinals and thus ended up in fifth place.

He won another silver medal at the 2013 Asian Championships in Jordan . In 2014 he won the Bocskai tournament in Hungary with a final victory against Schomart Jerschan and also took part in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland , where he failed again against Paddy Barnes in the final and won the silver medal. He finished the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea in fifth place after losing to Shin Jong-hun.

In 2015 he won the Doha tournament in Qatar and a bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Thailand when he was eliminated in the semifinals against Hasanboy Doʻsmatov . At the 2015 World Championships in Qatar, he lost in the opening fight against Harvey Horn . At the Olympic qualifying tournaments in China and Azerbaijan in 2016 , he defeated Fuad Redzuan, Tu Po-Wie, Leandro Blanc and Sibusiso Bandla, but lost to Rogen Ladon and Samuel Carmona , which meant he could not recommend himself for the 2016 Olympic Games.
