José "Joselito" Eduardo Velásquez Altamirano (* the thirtieth September 1993 in Oaxaca City ) is a Mexican boxer in the flyweight .

Amateur career

The 1.63 m standard boom won the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara . He defeated the Colombian Ceiber Ávila , the Dominican Juan Medina and the Cuban Yosvany Veitía . At the 2011 World Championships in Baku , he was eliminated in the second preliminary round against the Indian Devendro Singh .

In 2012 he took part in the American Olympic qualification in Rio de Janeiro , defeated Juan Medina and the Canadian Émilien Boucher again, but lost in the semi-finals just on points against Carlos Quipo from Ecuador. At the 2013 World Championships in Almaty , he just lost in the second preliminary round to Mohamed Flissi from Algeria.

In July 2014, he won the Panamerican Sports Festival in Mexico City and was also voted the tournament's best boxer. In the semifinals he won against Leonel de los Santos , the Dominican silver medalist of the Pan American Championships in 2013. In the final, he also defeated the Colombian Yuberjen Martínez , bronze medalist of the Pan American Championships in 2013. At the Copa Romana Tournament in La Romana in October of the same year, came he reached the semi-finals by beating Dominican Carlos Diaz, where he was knocked out again against Carlos Quipo and thus won bronze.
