Carlos Quipo

Carlos Eduardo Quipo Pilataxi (born May 17, 1990 in Quijos, Napo Province ) is an Ecuadorian light flyweight boxer and was a participant in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games .

Career

The left wing reached the quarter-finals at the Pan American Games in 2007 and took part in the 2009 World Championships , where he was eliminated in the second round against Dawid Airapetjan . He was also a bronze medalist at the Bolivarian Games 2009 and a gold medalist at the ALBA Games 2009.

In 2010 he won the silver medal at the South American Games and the gold medal at the Pan American Championships . In 2011 he also won silver at the ALBA games and took part in the World Championships , where he lost to Devendro Singh in the round of 16 .

In the American Olympic qualification in 2012, he defeated Paulo Carvalho, Ceiber Ávila and Joselito Velásquez , which he qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games . There he beat Kelvin de la Nieve , but was eliminated by Kaew Pongprayoon .

At the Pan American Championships in 2013 and 2015 he lost to Yuberjen Martínez and won a bronze medal at the Bolivarian Games 2013. Against Martínez, he also lost in the American Olympic qualification in 2016 and then started in the global qualification, where he lost in the quarter-finals to Joselito Velásquez. In the APB / WSB qualification in 2016, he was able to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games with a win against Leandro Blanc , but was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Nico Hernández .

At the Pan American Championships in 2017 he won a bronze medal and was thus qualified for the World Championships in 2017 , where he failed in the round of 16 against Amit Panghal .
