Roger Callard

Roger Callard (* in Chesaning , Saginaw County , Michigan ) is an American bodybuilder and actor .

Life

Callard began bodybuilding at the age of five at the instigation of his father. He attended Michigan State University and then competed in bodybuilding championships. He won the Middleweight Mr. America title of the International Federation of BodyBuilders in 1977 . At that time he was training with Arnold Schwarzenegger at Gold's Gym and was also featured in the two bodybuilding films Mr. Universum and Pumping Iron .

Callard retired from professional bodybuilding soon after and began an acting career. First he had guest appearances in various television series and in the feature film Sextets with Timothy Dalton and Tony Curtis . In the 1980s he worked frequently with Schwarzenegger; he worked as a stuntman on The Phantom Command and Total Recall and as a star in Twins and Red Heat . He parodied Schwarzenegger's role of Conan in Weird Al Yankovics comedy film UHF - Broadcasters with Limited Hope in 1989 . He had another film role in Walter Hills Western Geronimo - Eine Legende , after which he played mainly in television productions.
