Roger Davis (politician)

Roger Davis (born October 2, 1762 in Charlestown , Chester County , Province of Pennsylvania , †  November 20, 1815 ibid) was an American politician . Between 1811 and 1815 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

After studying medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and his admission as a doctor around 1785, he began to work in Charlestown in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Republican Party . Between 1809 and 1811 he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives .

In the 1810 congressional election , Davis was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the third constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Robert Jenkins on March 4, 1811 . After a re-election in the second district, he was able to complete two terms in Congress until March 3, 1815 . These were shaped by the events of the British-American War . After his time in the US House of Representatives, Davis practiced as a doctor again. He died in Charlestown on November 20, 1815.
