Roger Delizée (born March 1, 1935 in Oignies-en-Thiérache , Viroinval , Namur Province ; † March 11, 1998 in Viroinval, Namur Province) was a Belgian politician of the Belgian Workers' Party and most recently the Parti Socialiste (PS), which among others Was State Secretary in the eighth and ninth governments of Prime Minister Wilfried Martens .

Life

Delizée, who was a professional teacher of the German language and a librarian , began his political career in local politics and was initially a member of the local council and Schepen (alderman) and most recently mayor of his native Oignies-en-Thiérache.

After his death in 2001, the rue Roger Delizée was inaugurated in the parish of his birth, Oignies-en-Thiérache .

His son Jean-Marc Delizée was also a member of the Chamber of Deputies and State Secretary for Poverty Reduction in the Leterme I and Van Rompuy Governments and State Secretary for Social Affairs and Persons with Disabilities in the Van Rompuy and Leterme II Governments .
