Roger Mugny

Roger Mugny (born December 26, 1921 in Hennens , † November 18, 2008 in Lausanne ) was a Swiss trade unionist and politician ( CVP ).

Life

Mugny studied at the University of Freiburg Law and graduated in 1946 with a licentiate from. In the same year he began his work as a union secretary in Martigny . He later moved to Sierre . From 1957 to 1969 he was central secretary and vice-president of the Christian Metalworkers' Union . He was also a member of the Executive Committee of the Christian National Trade Union Confederation . At the same time he was editor-in-chief of the newspaper Syndicalisme from 1958 to 1969 . From 1977 to 1992 he was President of the Swiss Energy Consumers Association of Industry and Commerce .

As a Grand Councilor , Mugny served in two legislatures for the canton of Vaud from 1962 to 1966 . From 1970 to 1977 he was a member of the city government of Lausanne. From 1967 to 1979 he had a seat in the National Council. There he was a member of the finance commission. He was also a member of the AHV / IV commission from 1977 to 1980.
