Roger Schneider (writer)

Roger Schneider (born March 26, 1910 in Neuchâtel ; † July 10, 2005 in Köniz ; legal resident in Bern ) was a Swiss writer .

Life

Family and education

The reformed baptized, born in Neuchâtel Roger Schneider, son of the waitress Anna Margaretha Blättermann, adopted son of Coiffeurs Ernst Schneider, received training as a hairdresser after his compulsory education in Bern.

Roger Schneider married Alice Elsa, the daughter of Hans Wynistorf, in 1938. He died in the summer of 2005 at the age of 96 in Köniz in the canton of Bern .

Professional career

After years of wandering that took him to Lausanne , Paris and London , he returned to Switzerland, where he held positions in Lugano , Davos and Lucerne . In 1936 he took over his parents' hairdressing business, which he had to file for bankruptcy as a result of active service . Subsequently, from 1941 Roger Schneider was employed as a conductor and wagon driver for the municipal transport company in Bern , from 1947 as a supervisor and tourist guide in the Bundeshaus , most recently as a Councilor and Federal Councilwoman. He also worked as an amateur actor and director .

Roger Schneider emerged as the author of dialect pieces as well as stories with autobiographical background .
