Roger "Jimbo" Wehrli (born March 18, 1956 ) is a former Swiss football player and coach .
Career as a player

Roger Wehrli spent his junior years at FC Suhr.
After a season at FC Baden, he moved to FC Winterthur in the National League A in 1975 . After FC Winterthur's relegation in 1977, he moved to the Grasshoppers in Zurich. In eight years with Grasshoppers, he celebrated four championships ( season 1977/78 , 1981/82 , 1982/83 , 1983/84 ) and won again in 1983 the Swiss Cup . Internationally, too, Wehrli achieved remarkable successes with Grasshoppers by participating in the semi-finals in the 1977/78 UEFA Cup and participating in the quarter-finals in the 1978/79 European Cup .
In the summer of 1985 Wehrli moved to FC Luzern, where he played for five years until June 1990. As captain, he won the Swiss championship in the 1988/89 season under the coach of the time, Friedel Rausch .
At the end of his career, he switched to FC Aarau as a player-coach for two years from the summer of 1990.
In the summer of 1992 he ended his career after 17 seasons, 528 championship games and 35 goals in the National League A , making him one of the most frequently used players in the highest Swiss soccer league of all time.
Because of its direct nature it was also called "poison tooth".
National team
Wehrli played a total of 68 international matches for the Swiss national team between 1978 and 1989 . He made his debut on April 4, 1978 in a 0-1 friendly game against Austria for the Swiss national football team . He led the Swiss national team as captain in 25 games.
Career as a coach
After his retirement as a football player, he coached FC Suhr (player-coach), various youth teams of FC Luzern including assistant coaches of the 1st team, FC Baden, FC Muri, FC Schötz, SC Schöftland and FC Entfelden from summer 1992.
In 2010 he won the Aargauer Cup with FC Entfelden, so that FC Entfelden qualified for the first main round of the Swiss Cup 2010/11 , where it met its former club FC Luzern . In 2011 he was promoted to the 2nd interregional league with FC Entfelden and again won the Aargauer Cup, thus qualifying FC Entfelden for the 1st main round of the 2011/12 Swiss Cup . In July 2011 he resigned as coach of FC Entfelden.
