Rogier Blink

Rogier Blink (born January 13, 1982 in Groningen ) is a former Dutch rower .

Athletic career

Blink started rowing in 2000. In 2002 he finished eleventh in the single at the U23 World Championships , and the following year he won the bronze medal. In 2005 Blink moved into the Dutch eighth . At the World Championships , the Dutch eighth finished in eighth place , in 2006 the eighth finished 14th. At the 2007 World Championships , Rogier Blink started in a four-man with a helmsman and came in fifth. In 2008 Blink returned to the Dutch eighth after the Dutch eighth had only reached the B-final in the 2008 World Cup season, the crew was able to improve at the Olympic Games in Beijing and finished fourth. After a year off finished flashing with the roller in both the 2010 European Championships and at the 2010 World Championships in fourth place. In 2011, Blink rowed in two without a helmsman , and at the 2011 World Championships he finished eighth with Nanne Sluis .

In 2012 Blink finished fifth at the Olympic Games with the Dutch eight . At the end of the Olympic season, Blink won the European Championships with Mitchel Steenman in two without a helmsman. The following year, the two won the bronze medal at the European and World Championships . After winning the silver medal at the 2014 European Championships , the two Dutchmen missed an A final at the 2014 World Championships in Amsterdam for the first time in two years and only rowed to tenth place. Then Rogier Blink ended his sports career.
