Pipe head

The pipe head is a 1172.7  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the southern Black Forest . The northern part of the mountain with its hilltop lies on the district of Häg-Ehrsberg , the southern part lies on the district of Gersbach , a district of the town of Schopfheim in the district of Lörrach .

The district town of Lörrach is 32 km away in a south-westerly direction .

The Rohrenkopf is Gersbach's highest point with 1172.7  m . The tip itself, however, lies on the district of Häg-Ehrsberg. When the weather is clear, you can see the Swiss Alps with the three peaks of the Eiger , Mönch and Jungfrau .

Wind farm

Between May 2 and December 2016, the Schönau electricity works built a wind farm on the Rohrenkopf with an investment volume of 29 million euros . The park consists of five wind power plants of the type Enercon E 115 with a power rating of 3 MW each has a hub height of 149 meters. The rotor blade parts are each 45 meters long.

The five turbines were commissioned between December 2016 and January 2017. In its first year of operation, the Rohrenkopf wind farm generated 31,110 MWh of electricity; in 2018 it was 32,100 MWh. The electricity park supplies almost 11,000 households. The altitude in the southern Black Forest makes the wind farm the highest in Germany.
