Roitzschwiese is an originally independent settlement in the municipality of Klipphausen in the district of Meißen , Saxony , which today belongs to the Roitzschen district .

geography

Roitzschwiese is located in the Triebisch valley above Meißen in the east of the Roitzschen district. The village has grown together structurally with Roitzschen, the center of which is only 100 meters to the west. Roitzschwiese forms together with Roitzschen under his name a district of the municipality of Klipphausen. The Häuslerzeile Roitzschwiese is located along the street of the same name between a Mühlgraben and the Triebisch. The next town in an easterly direction is Sönitz , with Robschütz to the north .

history

The name “Roitzschwiese” was mentioned in 1791 and 1800 as a field name that refers to the place name Roitzschen. In 1822 the spelling "Rötzschwiese" was also used, and in 1840 "Roetzschwiese". In the first half of the 19th century, a group of houses was built on the Roitzschwiese, in which workers settled in close proximity to the Roitzschen manor houses.

The corridor around the Roitzschwiese on the orographically right side of the Triebisch has always belonged to Robschütz. Like its much closer neighbor Roitzschen, however, Roitzschwiese was parish after Krögis in 1840 . The proximity to Roitzschen and the lack of a direct connection to Robschütz were the decisive factors for a reorganization. In 1925 Roitzschwiese was separated from the rural community of Robschütz and incorporated into Roitzschen. Five years later, Roitzschwiese joined the Miltitz parish , to which Roitzschen had been a member since 1899.

As part of Roitzschen , Roitzschwiese was incorporated into Miltitz in 1935 , which in turn merged with Burkhardswalde-Munzig and Garsebach on March 1, 1994 to form the new municipality of Triebischtal . Since July 1st, 2012 the Roitzschwiese belongs to the municipality of Klipphausen.

At the edge of the Roitzschwiese stood the cork mill, known as the Roitzschmühle in the 19th century. Originally it was a hydropower operated grain and oil mill. Since 1904, she has been making litter for lining baking molds, first from sawdust and later from cork. After 1945 the mill made slate flour from phyllite , which was used for the manufacture of roofing felt and electrodes. Operations ceased in 1970. Only the residential building remained.
