Rokneddin Ashtiani

Rokneddin Ashtiani ( Persian رکن‌الدین آشتیانی; * 1914 in Tehran ; † after 1973) was an Iranian ambassador .

Life

He studied political science at the Law Faculty of Tehran University .

From 1961 to 1963 he was ambassador in Rabat . In 1966 he was ambassador to Algiers . In 1967 he was State Secretary in the Foreign Ministry and was responsible for public relations . In 1969 he was ambassador to Bangkok Thailand.

From July 16, 1971 to 1973 he was ambassador to Beirut .

He started his professional life in the Treasury. After moving to the foreign service, he was employed in the protocol department and later in the economics department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was subsequently first-class delegation secretary at the Iranian consulate in Israel , first-class delegation secretary in Bern , first-class delegation secretary in Paris, third-class delegation secretary in the Political Department of the Foreign Ministry in Tehran, personal secretary to the foreign minister, deputy head of the information department, deputy consul in Hamburg , Legation Councilor in The Hague , Chargé d' Affaires in Prague and London .

He headed the Department of Economics in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the rank of plenipotentiary minister and was also a delegate to the International Labor Conference in Geneva, member of the delegation of the International Trade Conference, Geneva. He headed the Iranian delegation to the conference on the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict . He took part in the International Human Rights Conference in Hamburg . He was a member of the delegation to negotiate trade agreements in Paris and Rome.
