Roland Henz

Roland Henz (* December 12, 1949 in Nalbach ; † November 1, 2017 ) was the Lord Mayor ( SPD ) of the district town of Saarlouis from March 1, 2005 to November 1, 2017 .

Life

Roland Henz graduated from the secondary school in Nalbach. Then he attended the Mügelsberg vocational training center in Saarbrücken . From 1965 to 1968 he trained as an offset printer at Astra in Saarlouis. From 1969 to 1973 he worked for the Merziger Druckerei und Verlag GmbH. In March 1973 he went to Saarstahl and worked there as an offset printer. From 1986 he worked as a trainer in the recognized workshop for disabled people at Saarstahl. From 1987 to 1998 Henz was a member of the works council of Saarstahl AG. From 1985 to 2002 he was chairman of the IG Metall shop stewards.

Roland Henz had been a member of the SPD since 1972. Between 1987 and 1999 he was the local SPD chairman in the Steinrausch district and until November 2004 chairman of the SPD in Saarlouis. From 2001 to 2010, Henz was district chairman of the SPD Saarlouis. Henz was also a member of the city council. Here he was in the committee for urban planning and the environment, in the main building and finance committee, in the works committee and the art commission of the city of Saarlouis. From 1995 to 2005, Henz was also a member of the Saarland State Parliament .

In 2005 he was elected Lord Mayor of Saarlouis and confirmed in office in 2012. He took over the official business from Hans-Joachim Fontaine .

Henz was married and has a son. His hobbies and interests were badminton , tennis and soccer .
