Roland Paul Jean Marie d'Anethan (born November 28, 1920 in Sukabumi , Java , † March 2, 2002 in Brussels ) was a Belgian diplomat .

Life

Baron Roland d'Anethan was the son of Henriette de Woelmont (* 1897; † 1968) and Félix d'Anethan (* 1895; † 1979). He became a doctor of law doctorate , entered 1945 in the foreign service, and married in 1950 Lucie Marie Laure de Luppé (born June 1, 1924 in Paris). He was accredited in Paris and Alexandria. In 1952 he was second class embassy secretary in Cairo . From 1958 to 1961 he was Consul General in Jerusalem . From 1961 to 1964 he was ambassador to Monrovia , Liberia . From 1969 to 1971 he headed the Western Europe and USA department at the Foreign Ministry in Brussels. From 1971 to 1976 he was the Belgian ambassador in Rabat .
