Roland Seim

Roland Seim (* 1965 in Münster ) is a German media scientist , journalist , author and publisher . The main focus of his work is research into censorship in German popular culture .

Life

Roland Seim graduated from the Johann-Conrad-Schlaun-Gymnasium in Münster in 1984 . From 1984 to 1993 he studied art history , philosophy and sociology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster, at the Free University of Berlin and at the Technical University of Berlin . He passed his master's degree on January 21, 1993 with a major in art history with a grade of good from Jürg Meyer zur Capellen in Münster. On July 2, 1997, he was at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Horst Herrmann in sociology with a minor in art history and philosophy magna cum laude for Dr. phil. PhD .

In addition to regular journalistic activities such as for Telepolis , Seim founded Telos, a publishing house for cultural studies, in 1997. He was a lecturer in media sociology at the Institute for Sociology at the University of Münster. He is working with Daniel Bettermann and others on the German Censorship Museum project. Seim is the author of several standard works on the history of censorship and lives in Münster.
