Roland Stoltz began his career as a hockey player at Atlas Diesels IF , for whose professional team he was active from 1948 to 1955 in Division 1 , which was then the highest Swedish league, as well as the second-rate Division 2 . The defender then moved to Djurgårdens IF , with whom he won the national championship six times in a row in 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1963 . In 1959 he was also awarded the guldpucken as Sweden's player of the year. He ended his career at Djurgårdens IF in 1970. In 1999 he was honored with the induction into the IIHF Hall of Fame .
International
For Sweden , Stoltz took part in the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley , 1964 in Innsbruck and 1968 in Grenoble . At the 1964 Winter Games, he and his team won the silver medal. He was also in his country's squad at the World Championships in 1957 , 1958 , 1962 , 1963 , 1965 and 1967 . At the world championships in 1958 and 1965 he and his team won the bronze medal, and at the world championships in 1963 and 1967 the silver medal. At the World Championships in 1957 and 1962, Stoltz won the gold medal with Sweden. As the best European team, the team also became European champions.
