Rolf Butenschön

Rolf Butenschön (* 1933 ; † November 10, 2005 in Hamburg ) was a German entrepreneur and inventor .

Life

Rolf Butenschön initially ran a company for large kitchens. He had sold this in 1981 and actually wanted to retire. In a French vacation mood, the Hamburg businessman Rolf Butenschön developed the famous "Chambrair wine climate cabinet" in 1982, which was presented to the public on January 11, 1983. With his company "Chambrair" he produced and sold the climate cabinet , popular among wine connoisseurs, top restaurateurs and private households, such as Robert De Niro and Michael Schumacher , worldwide. His wine cabinets are in the Federal Chancellery , Bellevue Palace , in top hotels such as Adlon , Atlantic and Burj Al Arab .

According to his business motto "You don't recognize the connoisseur by the wines, but by the way he cares for them." B. the British royal family or the Japanese emperor air-condition their wines through Chambrair.

Rolf Butenschön also invented the "Fromagair cheese climate cabinet" and the "Conditionair cigar climate cabinet" for the optimal treatment of cheese and cigars . In 1991 he developed a series of fine Caribbean cigars called "Cigare de Chambrair Privée", handcrafted in the Dominican Republic . The names of the noble cigars are:

  • Finesse - the little Panetela
  • Plaisir - the long panetela
  • Soft spot - the Corona format
  • Elégance - the Lonsdale format
  • Private reserve torpedo
  • The Hardy Rodenstock cigar
