Rolf Lüttgens
Rolf Lüttgens (born January 5, 1934 in Frankfurt am Main ; † December 28, 1980 ibid) was a German modern jazz pianist .
Lüttgens received piano lessons from 1941 to 1947, played in American soldiers' clubs and from 1957 and 1960 attended the German Amateur Jazz Festival in Düsseldorf with Dieter von Goetze's trio , where he was recognized as a “highlight”. He founded his own trio, which also accompanied Inge Brandenburg (album Don't Blame Me ) and took part in television programs and concerts, among others. a. with Emil Mangelsdorff and Joki Freund . He also played in Frankfurt with guest musicians such as Tony Scott , Hans Koller , Lee Konitz , Attila Zoller and Stan Getz . He was involved in the recordings of Fritz Hartschuh in 1962 and 1964 ( Autumn in Europe ) and the group Emil Mangelsdorff Swingers 1969 ( Old Fashion - New Sound ).
