Career

Strandberg, who started for the IF Friska Viljor , made his international debut at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley . He jumped from the normal hill to 86.5 and 81 meters and thus reached 18th place. After a year break, Strandberg started at the Four Hills Tournament 1962/63 . After 34th place in Oberstdorf , he landed 27th in Innsbruck . At the New Year's competition on the Great Olympic Hill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he achieved his best individual tour result with rank 24. Since he did not appear in Bischofshofen , he ended the tour prematurely and finished 43rd in the overall ranking. He also achieved this overall rank at the Four Hills Tournament in 1965/66 , although he competed in all four competitions there. However, his best individual result was 48th place in Bischofshofen.

Between 1960 and 1966, Strandberg won the Swedish championship title in ski jumping seven times with the team.
