Rolf Westermann
Rolf Westermann (born March 15, 1961 in Leonberg ) is a German journalist. Since 2014 he has been editor-in-chief of the Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie-Zeitung (AHGZ) of the dfv media group .
Life
Rolf Westermann studied journalism, political science and psychology at the Free University of Berlin . He began his career at the German Press Agency (dpa), where he worked for around 23 years. There he was u. a. Volunteer in North Rhine-Westphalia, editor and "head of service" in Mainz, CvD in Frankfurt am Main, east head in Leipzig and from 2004 to 2012 regional office manager for the capital and east of Germany in Berlin. Then he moved to the dapd news agency as deputy editor-in-chief .
He then became head of the news department alongside Melanie Ahlemeier at the federal edition of the Bild newspaper.
In 2014 he switched to AHGZ. The general hotel and gastronomy newspaper AHGZ appears under the umbrella of the dfv media group (Frankfurt) and is the only weekly newspaper in the industry. He is the author of the book The Day of Decision with portraits from the hotel industry and its surroundings. For this, Rolf Westermann received the “Book of the Year” award on September 8, 2018 at the “Grand Prize for SMEs” in Dresden.
Rolf Westermann also moderates at conferences, congresses and award ceremonies, for example at the AHGZ's “Wellness Summit” in 2015, at the “Hotelier of the Year” gala and award ceremony in 2017 and at the 2017 German Hotel Congress.
From 2003 to 2013 Westermann was a lecturer at the TU Dresden , Hochschule Mittweida , Hochschule Magdeburg , FU Berlin and the University of Leipzig .
