from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Max Rolf Eggerich Hans Bernhard Otto von Keizer (born July 30, 1908 in Oldenburg ; † April 20, 1976 in Munich ) was a German diplomat who was, among other things, ambassador to Burma and head of the commercial agency in Bulgaria .

Life

His parents were Major General Karl Otto Alexander Viktor von Keizer (born April 21, 1871 - October 27, 1929) and his wife Luise Alwine Ella Sluytermann von Langeweyde (born March 1, 1886).

After graduating from high school , von Keizer studied and joined the Foreign Service after completing his studies . After completing the career test for the higher service, he found numerous posts at various diplomatic missions abroad and at the headquarters of the Foreign Office in Bonn .

In the early 1960s he worked as an embassy counselor at the embassy in India . During this time there was a so-called "small rental car trial" against him before the Bonn lay judge in 1961. After the ambassador to India at that time, Wilhelm Melchers , testified in the process that von Keizer could only carry out his duties - it was a question of saving India from sliding into communist waters through economic aid - with a car, Keizer was acquitted .

In 1966 he was appointed ambassador to Burma as the successor to Richard Bottler and held this office until he was replaced by Rolf Ramisch in 1970. In 1970 he himself succeeded Heinz Hermann as head of the commercial agency in Bulgaria . In 1973 he was succeeded by Fritz Menne , who in 1974 became the first ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bulgaria.
